Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Islamabad

Upon your arrival at Islamabad, you will be warmly greeted by our company representative. After a short rest at the hotel, we will take you on a captivating city tour of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. While Rawalpindi is a lively and bustling city with colorful bazaars, Islamabad, the 36-year-old well-planned capital of Pakistan, offers lush green landscapes at the foothills of Potohar hills. Visit the iconic Faisal Mosque, explore the beautiful Shakar Parian Gardens, and indulge in the rich heritage at Lok Virsa, the Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage. In the evening, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2Islamabad to Besham

After a delightful breakfast at the hotel in Islamabad, we embark on a scenic drive to Taxila, where we will explore its museum and historical sites. Continuing our journey, we head towards Besham, located about 267 km away and approximately a 4-5 hour drive. Along the way, we will stop for a sumptuous lunch. Overnight stay at a hotel in Besham.

Day 3Besham to Gilgit (1462m)

Following breakfast at the Besham Hotel, we embark on an exciting drive via the Karakoram Highway to Gilgit. The 391km journey is not only thrilling but also offers some of the most spectacular views. The Karakoram Highway, an engineering marvel, stretches over 1300km between Islamabad and Kashgar, China. En route, we will stop at Chilas for lunch before reaching Gilgit, where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 4Bagrot Valley Excursion

After breakfast at the hotel in Gilgit, we set off for a Jeep ride to Bagrot Valley. A scenic 2-hour drive brings us to this enchanting valley. Enjoy a tea break at a local guest house before embarking on a hike to Bagrot Glacier. Afterward, savor a delicious lunch at the guest house. In the afternoon, we drive back to Gilgit, where you can explore the local bazaar before dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5Gilgit to Karimabad (2500m)

Start your day with a hearty breakfast before driving to Kargha. Explore the bazaar in Gilgit and become acquainted with the warm mountain people. Situated southwest of Gilgit is Kargah, a small valley with impressive rock carvings of Lord Buddha. After lunch, continue your journey to Karimabad, a drive of approximately 70km taking about one and a half hours. En route, take a tea break at Rakaposhi 7788m Viewpoint, offering mesmerizing vistas. Upon arrival in Karimabad, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6Hunza Valley Sightseeing

Wake up early in the morning and drive to Duiker to witness the sun rising over some of the world’s most beautiful mountains, including Rakaposhi Peak, Diran Peak, Ultar Peak, Golden Peak, and Ladyfinger Peak. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at Eagle Nest Hotel Duiker, taking in the panoramic views of Hunza and Nagar Valley. Continue your day with a visit to Altit Village and explore the over 900-year-old Altit Fort. Then, proceed to Karimabad and visit the more than 800-year-old Baltit Fort. Lunch at a local restaurant and return to the hotel for some rest. In the evening, stroll through the bazaar in Karimabad before an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7Khunjerab Pass (4737m) Excursion

After breakfast, embark on a thrilling drive to Khunjerab Pass, the Pakistan-China border. The pass, standing at an altitude of 4737m, is the highest point on the Karakoram Highway and offers breathtaking views. Enjoy a packed lunch at Khunjerab Pass and then return to Gulmit for an overnight stay.

Day 8Gulmit Day Hike

After breakfast, drive to Gulkin Village, from where we will start our hike on Gulkin Glacier to Borit Lake. The hike takes around 1-2 hours and treats you to stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Have lunch at Borit Lake, a beautiful lake nestled amidst the mountains. In the afternoon, drive back to Gulmit, where you can visit the village, meet the locals, and experience the local culture. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9Gulmit to Hoper Valley and Back to Hunza

After breakfast, we drive to Hoper Valley, where you can enjoy a scenic hike to Hoper Glacier. Relish a delicious lunch in Hoper before proceeding to Karimabad. Transfer to the hotel, and in the afternoon, explore the local bazaar. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 10Karimabad to Minapin

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Hunza Carpet House, where local women and men create exquisite local carpets. Also, explore some old traditional houses in Hunza and get a glimpse of the famous Hunzakuz culture. After lunch, proceed to Minapin in Nagar Valley. Overnight stay in a guest house.

Day 11Day Hike to Rakaposhi Base Camp

Enjoy breakfast and then embark on an invigorating hike to Rakaposhi Base Camp at an altitude of 3700m. Rakaposhi, standing at 7788m, is the 27th-highest mountain in the world and the 12th-highest in Pakistan. The hike takes about 3-4 hours. Savor a packed lunch amidst stunning views of Rakaposhi and Diran Peak. Return to Minapin in the afternoon and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 12Minapin to Gilgit

After breakfast, we drive back to Gilgit, a journey of 1-2 hours. In the afternoon, enjoy some sightseeing in Gilgit. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 13Gilgit to Besham

Today, we head back to Besham via the Karakoram Highway, a drive of 331km, taking approximately 8-9 hours. Lunch will be served at Dassu along the way. Overnight stay at a hotel in Besham.

Day 14Besham to Islamabad

After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for Islamabad, a drive of 267km, taking about 6-7 hours. On the way, we will stop for lunch at Abbottabad, a well-planned city. Arrive in Islamabad and spend the night at a hotel.

Day 15Departure from Islamabad

On this final day of your thrilling adventure, you have a free day to explore Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Take this opportunity to indulge in some last-minute shopping and savor the local culture before bidding farewell to this enchanting region. After dinner, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home, marking the end of an unforgettable journey through the wonders of Northern Pakistan.
