Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Islamabad - Explore Rawalpindi and Islamabad

Upon your arrival at Islamabad, our friendly Company representative will meet and greet you, and then transfer you to your hotel. After some rest, embark on a city tour of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Rawalpindi’s lively streets and colorful bazaars provide a glimpse into the real Pakistan. In contrast, Islamabad, the well-planned capital city, nestled at the foothills of the Potohar hills, offers a lush green ambiance. Visit the iconic Faisal Mosque, Shakarparian Gardens, and the Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage. In the evening, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2Islamabad to Chilas (392km)

After breakfast at your Islamabad hotel, we’ll start our journey towards Chilas, a scenic drive that will take approximately 12-13 hours. Enjoy photo stops along the way and savor a delicious lunch in Besham. Upon arrival in Chilas, check-in at your hotel for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3Chilas to Karimabad (222km)

After a hearty breakfast in Chilas, we’ll hit the thrilling Karakoram Highway en route to Karimabad, a journey of 222km. The Karakoram Highway is a masterpiece of engineering, offering stunning views of the landscape. Stop at Rakaposhi Viewpoint for lunch and continue to Karimabad. In the afternoon, explore the local bazaar, and then have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 4Hunza Sightseeing.

Explore the majestic Hunza Valley. Visit the splendid 800 years old Baltit Fort standing with a guarding view on the top of the valley and proceed to visit the 900 years old Altit Fort poised on a sheer cliff above the Hunza River. Enjoy the afternoon walk through the bazaar to explore local artifacts, dry fruit, and jewelry shops. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5Khunjerab Pass Excursion

After breakfast, embark on another excursion to Khunjerab Pass (4737m) at the Pakistan-China border, experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of this border region. Enjoy lunch at the pass and then drive back to Gulmit for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 6Gulmit Day Hike and Drive to Hunza

After breakfast, drive to Gulkin Village, where a captivating hike to Borit Lake awaits. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake and have lunch there. In the afternoon, explore the village, interact with the locals, and visit a local carpet-making center. Later, drive to Hunza, where dinner and overnight accommodation await.

Day 7Duikar and Hoper

Morning drive up to Duikar for a bird’s eye view of the Hunza & Nagar Valleys surrounded by snow-crowned mountain peaks. Enjoy the majestic scenery and drive back to the scenic Hoper Valley well-known for apricot orchards where vibrant autumn colors display a panoramic view of nature. Return to Karimabad for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 8Hunza to Gilgit and Bagrot Valley Excursion

Drive from Hunza to Gilgit after breakfast. The tiny villages along the 100km journey present a diverse blend of mesmerizing natural colors. Upon arrival in Gilgit, transfer to hotel for check in. Afternoon, visit the Bagrot Valley located at an hour’s drive. Famous for autumn and blossom, in the Bagrot Valley nature’s vibrant colors come alive and leave the visitors full of joy. Enjoy the mesmerizing scenery and return to the hotel for an overnight stay. 

Day 9Gilgit to Gakuch

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Gilgit before driving to Kargha, a small valley with ancient rock carvings of Lord Buddha. After exploring Kargha, proceed to Gahkuch, a drive of approximately 2 hours. Have lunch at Gakuch upon arrival and explore the valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 10Gakuch to Phander Excursion

After breakfast, drive to Phander and if time allowed proceed to Shanur Pass, for a scenic day excursion. Enjoy the beautiful views and have lunch with the magnificent Phander Lake on the way back. Return to Gakuch in the afternoon for dinner and another night in your hotel.

Day 11Gakuch to Chilas

Following breakfast, begin your journey back to Chilas, making a lunch stop in Gilgit. Enjoy a 6-7 hour drive through the picturesque landscape. Upon arrival in Chilas, check-in at your hotel, enjoy dinner and rest for the night.

Day 12Chilas to Islamabad

After breakfast in Chilas, embark on the final leg of your journey back to Islamabad, with a lunch stop in Besham. The drive will take approximately 11-12 hours. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 13Day excursion to Takht-e-Bahi Monastery

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mardan to explore Takht-e-Bahi Buddhist Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Pakistan. It is about 2.5 hours’ drive followed by a flight of stairs to reach the monastery. The fort presents a magnificent history of the peak of Buddhism. Enjoy the views of Mardan and the surrounding regions while on the site. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 14Taxila excursion and Departure

Taxila is another UNESCO World Heritage site located about 35km from Islamabad. Explore the rich museum housing relics of Gandhara civilization and visit Dharmarajika, Sirkap, and Julian Monastery. Return to Islamabad for lunch and visit Pakistan Monument and Faisal Mosque before dinner.  Finally, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure.
